SANDY BEACHES of Mission

HAYWARD LAKE  has many recreational activities that can be enjoyed, from boating, fishing, and swimming, to picnicking hiking and mountain biking. Wheelchair accessible and complete with washroom facilities, change rooms and showers, spending an entire day here is effortless.

HIKING/biking TRAILS of mission

Mission's Forestry Department maintains 11 recreational trails for hiking or mountain biking, and in partnership with the Fraser Valley Mountain Bike association, oversees 40+km of trails.

 

HAYWARD TRAIL   a 10-km Reservoir trail connects with the 6-km  Railway trail providing a 16-km scenic walk around the lake. Continue along the Reservoir trail and arrive at a view of  the majestic Steelhead Falls.

 

CASCADE FALLS   is a scenic hike to a glacier fed waterfall that can be viewed from a suspension bridge that crosses the canyon.  The platform being as close as it can to the rushing water allowing you to feel the mist falling from the falls.

 

MT. CRICKMER  is the highest summit in the municipal area.  There are views of Stave Lake, Alouette Lake, Mt. Blanshard and Golden Ears.  The trail is 8.7 km and gains 1156-m in elevation.

WESTMINSTER ABBEY   established in 1939 is home to the Benedictine Monks, located on a hill northeast of downtown Mission, taking in the sweeping views of Mission and the Fraser River.  The architecture is amazing and the grounds and view are breathtaking. Stay Connected

WEST COAST EXPRESS introduced in 1995 connects Mission to Vancouver via 5 trains per day in each direction, stopping along the way at many Express stations connecting Mission to much of the lower mainland.  Making your commute comfortable as possible, all trains are equipped with washrooms and coffee bar.
